A snapshot of Gosford and its residents

Who are the residents of Gosford City, what do they do and how do they live? A new, interactive addition to Gosford City Council's website helps residents answer many questions about their communities' makeup. The Small Area Community Profile is designed to provide information about the characteristics of local communities. The Profile allows each small area to be compared to the Gosford Local Government Area, the Central Coast and NSW. Residents can select their area and explore information on a range of topics including population, residents' occupations and lifestyles, and the percentage of each small area population that is employed. The information is derived from the ABS Census of Population and Housing 2001 and each small area can be compared to data from previous censuses. Data will be updated when the 2006 census information becomes available. Seventeen of the 20 Gosford precincts covered in the profile are grouped into "clusters" of adjoining villages, such as Ettalong Beach and Booker Bay; and Forresters Beach, Wamberal, Terrigal and North Avoca. The three stand-alone areas profiled are Umina Beach, Kariong and Kincumber.
