Originally, the Aboriginal Access Project was a combined activity of all Central Coast Neighbourhood & Community Centres. Wyoming Community Centre was the lead agency and produced a toolkit entitled “Walking Together” to assist non-Aboriginal services who were working with the Aboriginal community. Cultural training was provided to a large number of workers in the area. The Project is now being conducted by the Wyoming Community Centre and is currently providing Aboriginal Cultural Workshops throughout the Central Coast. We are also involved in the annual NAIDOC week celebrations and in 2006 provided an Aboriginal component to the annual "Kids Day Out" festival held at the Ourimbah campus. If funding applications are successful, the Centre is hoping to participate at the 2007 Kids Day Out. |
